This Privacy Policy explains how the UNBUNNED mobile application ("the App") handles information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Summary
UNBUNNED is a fast-food nutrition calculator. The App is designed to work without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information. The data you enter — such as your calorie targets, macro goals, dietary filters and saved meals — is stored on your device.
Information we collect
Information you provide in the App. Settings and content you create — daily calorie targets, macro goals, dietary filters, saved and customised meals, and meal codes — are stored locally on your device. This data is not sent to us.
Information we do NOT collect. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. We do not collect data that directly identifies you, except any personal details you voluntarily include when you contact us (see "Feedback and reports") or in a meal you choose to share (see "Shared meal codes").
Analytics. The App uses PostHog, a third-party product analytics service, to understand how the App is used (for example, which features are opened and how often) so we can improve it. PostHog collects anonymous usage and event data and a randomly generated device identifier. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Analytics data is processed by PostHog on its US servers. See PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com for more information.
How information is used
Information stored on your device is used only to provide the App's features — calculating nutrition figures, saving your meals, and remembering your preferences. We do not have access to this data.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing. The "share as image" and "meal code" features create content you choose to share — sharing is initiated and controlled entirely by you.
Shared meal codes
The App lets you generate a short code so you can share a customised meal with another person. When you create a code, the meal information (such as the chain, item, modifications and nutrition figures) is sent to and temporarily stored on our cloud backend, provided by Google Firebase. The stored record contains only the meal definition and the share code; it does not include your name, email, or a personal account identifier. Anyone who has the code can load that meal for as long as it is stored. Shared meal data is automatically deleted after 24 hours. Generating a code does not require an account. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in a meal you share, as anyone with the code can view it. Firebase processes and stores this data on Google's infrastructure and, like most cloud services, may log technical information such as IP addresses; see Google's privacy policy for details.
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate the App: PostHog (anonymous product analytics), Google Firebase (temporary storage for shared meal codes), and EmailJS (delivery of feedback messages to us). Each processes data only as needed to provide its function. We do not sell your data or share it for third-party advertising.
Feedback and reports
If you send feedback, a suggestion, or report incorrect nutrition information through the App, your message is delivered to us by email using a third-party email delivery service (EmailJS). We receive the content of your message in our email inbox. The App does not ask for your email address or name to submit feedback; however, if you choose to include personal details (such as your email address) in the text of your message, we will receive and may retain them in order to respond. We use feedback only to operate and improve the App and to reply to you. EmailJS processes your message in transit; see emailjs.com for its privacy practices.
Nutrition information disclaimer
Nutrition figures shown in the App are estimates for general informational purposes only and are not medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. They may differ from official chain figures and from your actual meal. Always rely on official sources where accuracy matters, and consult a qualified professional for health decisions.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Because the data you create is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the App's data, deleting saved meals in the App, or uninstalling the App. To request deletion of anonymous analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the email below. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under local privacy laws — for example, Australia's Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, Canada's PIPEDA, or applicable United States state privacy laws. To exercise any such rights, contact us using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
