Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the UNBUNNED mobile application ("the App") handles information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

Summary

Information we collect

Information you provide in the App

Settings and content you create, including daily calorie targets, macro goals, dietary filters, saved and customised meals, and meal codes, are stored locally on your device. This data is not sent to us.

Information we do not collect

We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. We do not collect data that directly identifies you, except any personal details you voluntarily include when you contact us (see "Feedback and reports") or in a meal you choose to share (see "Shared meal codes").

Analytics

The App uses PostHog, a third-party product analytics service, to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. PostHog collects anonymous usage and event data. This includes which features are opened and how often, when the Premium screen is shown and which feature led to it, and whether a subscription purchase was started, completed, cancelled or failed, including the plan and whether it offered a free trial. Events also note whether you have Premium. PostHog never receives your payment details.

PostHog uses a randomly generated device identifier. The App also gives this identifier to RevenueCat (see "Subscriptions and purchases"), so that subscription events can be matched with usage data in PostHog. These include a free trial converting to a paid subscription, a renewal or a cancellation. The identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Analytics data is processed by PostHog on its US servers. Subscriptions and purchases

UNBUNNED Premium is an in-app subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment, and we never receive your card details, name or email address from them.

We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to confirm your subscription and unlock Premium. RevenueCat receives your purchase records from Apple or Google, along with a randomly generated identifier for the App on your device. These records include the product, purchase and renewal dates, free trial status, price and currency. The identifier is not linked to your name or email. RevenueCat also sends subscription events to PostHog, as described in "Analytics". See revenuecat.com for RevenueCat's privacy practices.

Crash reports

If the App crashes, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, so we can find and fix the problem. A crash report includes technical details such as the error and where it occurred in the App's code, the state of the App at the time, your device model and operating system version, and a randomly generated installation identifier. Crash reports are not linked to your name, email or any account. See Google's privacy policy for details.

How information is used

Information stored on your device is used only to provide the App's features: calculating nutrition figures, saving your meals, and remembering your preferences. We do not have access to this data.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing. The "share as image" and "meal code" features create content you choose to share, and sharing is initiated and controlled entirely by you.

Shared meal codes

The App lets you generate a short code so you can share a customised meal with another person. When you create a code, the meal information, such as the chain, item, modifications and nutrition figures, is sent to and temporarily stored on our cloud backend, provided by Google Firebase. The stored record contains only the meal definition and the share code; it does not include your name, email, or a personal account identifier.

Anyone who has the code can load that meal for as long as it is stored. Shared meal codes work for 90 days. After that they stop working, and the stored meal is automatically deleted, usually within a day. Generating a code does not require an account. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in a meal you share, as anyone with the code can view it. Firebase processes and stores this data on Google's infrastructure and, like most cloud services, may log technical information such as IP addresses; see Google's privacy policy for details.

Service providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• PostHog for anonymous product analytics.
• RevenueCat for subscription management.
• Google Firebase for crash reporting (Crashlytics) and temporary storage of shared meal codes.
• EmailJS for delivery of feedback messages to us.

Each processes data only as needed to provide its function, and we only use providers that protect your data to at least the standard described in this policy. We do not sell your data or share it for third-party advertising.

Feedback and reports

If you send feedback, a suggestion, or report incorrect nutrition information through the App, your message is delivered to us by email using a third-party email delivery service (EmailJS). We receive the content of your message in our email inbox. The App does not ask for your email address or name to submit feedback; however, if you choose to include personal details such as your email address in the text of your message, we will receive and may retain them in order to respond. We use feedback only to operate and improve the App and to reply to you. EmailJS processes your message in transit; see emailjs.com for its privacy practices.

Website and email notifications

Our website (unbunned.com.au) offers an optional form where you can leave your email address to be notified when the App launches on new platforms, for example the Google Play Store. If you choose to submit your email address, it is collected with your consent and stored with MailerLite, a third-party email service provider, and is used only to send you that notification and related UNBUNNED updates. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed at any time by contacting us at contact@unbunned.com.au. We do not sell your email address or share it for third-party marketing. MailerLite processes this data on its own infrastructure; see mailerlite.com for its privacy practices.

Messages sent through the website's support contact form are delivered to us by EmailJS, the same service described in "Feedback and reports" above, and any personal details you include are used only to respond to you.

Nutrition information disclaimer

Nutrition figures shown in the App are estimates for general informational purposes only and are not medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. They may differ from official chain figures and from your actual meal. Always rely on official sources where accuracy matters, and consult a qualified professional for health decisions.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because the data you create is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the App's data, deleting saved meals in the App, or uninstalling the App. To request deletion of the anonymous analytics, crash report or subscription records associated with your device, contact us at the email below. We keep these records only as long as we need them for the purposes described in this policy. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under local privacy laws, for example Australia's Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, Canada's PIPEDA, or applicable United States state privacy laws. To exercise any such rights, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
